	Current Research
	I have on hand a number of part-finished projects, which I intend to complete in the short or medium term:
	1. An edition of Gulliver's Travels for the CUP ‘Complete Writings of Jonathan Swift'. 2. An edition of Boswell's Life of Johnson for Penguin Books. 3. A monograph on history plays and historical narrative in the sixteenth century for OUP.
	Thereafter, I want to work on two topics, both of which I expect to write up as monographs:
	1. The culture of Whiggism, 1680-1728. 2. Literature and Empire in Britain , 1760-1800.
