Winchester Cathedral and Hospital of St Cross

Winchester is a city steeped in history, and its magnificent cathedral dates from 1079. One of its bishops was William Wykeham, founder of New College. The Hospital of St Cross was founded between 1132 and 1136, and is Britain’s oldest charitable institution.
