Tax code warning

A number of pensioners have discovered on receipt of their April pay slip (the first of the new tax year) that their current pension payments have been calculated using out-of-date tax codes.  It seems that HMRC (HM Revenue and Customs) hasn't sent up-to-date information to the University, and this has affected some OSPS pensioners.  Since the problem seems to lie with HMRC, it's possible that other pension providers, such as USS, could also be affected.  You might like to check that your most recent tax code has been applied in the calculation of your pension payment.  If a mistake has occurred, the phone number to contact HMRC is 0845 3000 627 and OSPS members should quote reference 075/FA12903.
