ARAM Society for Syro-Mesopotamian Studies is organising a series of conferences on Transmission and Innovation: Scientific and technological thought in the Syro-Mesopotamian area and the Arabian Peninsula (3000 BC - 2000 AD), and its fifteenth International Conference will study the theme of Water, to be held at the University of Oxford on 17-19 July 2000. The theme will include many disciplines, such as agriculture, irrigation, ecology, medicine, physics, chemistry, history, archaeology, poetry, philosophy, cosmology, religion, mythology, and astrology.
