Single photon simulation of TCSPC.

Click "Run" to clear the graph and start the photon counting.

You can change the number of fluorescent molecules illuminated and the probability that a molecule will become excited (equivalent to increasing the intensity of illuminating light). Increasing these numbers speed up the acquisition but causes a problem that is highlighted in the next applet.

Slow the animation down by dragging the "Graph Update Speed" slider to the left to get a better look at how single photon evens are accumulated in the bar graph. The counter at the bottom shows how many photons have been detected.
