Oxford v Cambridge Fire & Rescue Service Boat Race
Saturday 21st August 2004 at 4.00 pm

Oxfordshire Fire Services' Crew

This year the Regatta includes an Oxford v Cambridge Boat Race between crews from the Oxfordshire and Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Services.

The event is a memorial to Steve Vermeulen, an Oxfordshire firefighter who tragically passed away last year after battling a brain tumour. It has also been a catalyst for rasing money for Sobell House Hospice Charity, which works tirelessly for terminally ill people in the Oxford area.

The predominantly novice crews are:
Oxfordshire Cambridgeshire
Bow Bob Patterson Chris Parker
2 Ross McLaren Dave Richardson
3 Grahame Mitchell Mick Jackman
4 Simon Belcher Rick Hylton
5 Richard Allington Mick Lawrence
6 Darran Gough Jon Wade
7 Frank Patterson John Frame
Stroke Paul Oakey Gary Hallet
Cox Jo Thoenes Abigail Lawrence

Please give them a big cheer, and go along to their ‘pitch’ near the finish to make a donation to a very worthy cause.

Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service rowing crew wish to take this opportunity to thank the following organizations for their generous support:

City of Oxford Rowing Club
Fox FM
ASDA Distribution Centre, Didcot
Pyrotec Services, Oxford
Mudie-Bond, Cassington
WS Atkins, Oxford
