Welcome to my page!

I am a Tutorial Fellow and Clarendon (CUF) University Lecturer in Ancient History at St John's College, Oxford. I teach the whole range of Hellenistic and Roman history papers for Classics and joint schools, Classical Archaeology and Ancient History, and Ancient and Modern History at St John's, and also lecture on Roman history for the Faculty of Classics.

In my own research, I work on political, social and institutional history of the early Roman Empire, history of Roman law, epigraphy of the Roman world (both Latin and Greek), and regional history of Roman Asia Minor and the Black Sea area. At the moment I am preparing for publication in the Oxford Classical Monographs series a book on Law in Roman Asia Minor (133 BC - AD 212). My next research project will be on social and institutional history of the province of Lycia-Pamphylia to the beginning of the fourth century AD.

I am also an assistant editor of the Supplementum Epigraphicum Graecum with responsibility for the Black Sea and Danubian region, and more generally for Slavonic language publications.
