I feel that historians in the Czech lands and in the United Kingdom have been waiting for years for a forum like this. And the activities, interests and plans for the future of the Forum since its foundation over a year ago tells us that the expectations are high. This is not mainly about cooperation and links between Czech and British historians, this is a joint venture which offers a profound and professional knowledge and understanding of our history and thereby constitutes a solid basis for shared historical memory. That is an exciting project. All the more because young historians and students are part of it.

Dr Pavel Seifter, Former Czech Ambassador to the United Kingdom
The British Steering Committee look forward to working with our Czech and Slovak historian colleagues in the many areas where we have shared interests. Our first initiative relates to the crucial decades of Anglo-Czech-Slovak interaction from the First World War to the Second but we intend in the future to extend our activities back into earlier centuries. It is very important to us that younger scholars at the graduate and post-graduate level are fully involved in this venture which bodes well for future cooperation.
