Dr Tianrong Yeo is a consultant neurologist at the National Neuroscience Institute, Singapore, with a clinical and research interest in immune-mediated central nervous system inflammatory disorders. He runs a weekly neuroimmunology clinic seeing patients with Multiple Sclerosis, Neuromyelitis Optica and Autoimmune Encephalitis. He also holds an academic rank of Clinical Assistant Professor at the Duke-NUS medical school.
Dr Yeo received research training by completing a Master in Clinical Investigation at the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2017, after which he embarked on a DPhil at the University of Oxford under the supervision of Professor Daniel C. Anthony and Professor Jacqueline Palace, supported by the National Medical Research Council (NMRC Singapore). During his DPhil, he studied the application of metabolomics in inflammatory demyelinating diseases of the central nervous system in both humans and animals models and was able to identify novel metabolite biomarkers informing on diagnosis, disease activity and disease progression. Dr Yeo was conferred his DPhil in 2020 and he plans to continue clinical and translational research to unravel the molecular underpinnings in which exogenous factors contribute to neuroinflammatory conditions.
