Bodleian Digital Library

My main role within the Bodleian Digital Library is the co-ordination of its metadata services. I maintain its metadata and encoding frameworks and am responsible for the standards and interoperability focus of the digital resources (digital surrogates, electronic text, finding aids etc.) created. To this end I consult with academics, librarians, and researchers involved in the creation or migration of metadata to advise, analyse requirements, train, and manage the process. I've been managing projects mainly in humanities subject areas and have recently been working on the following projects:

• Cultures of Knowledge (CofK): EAD 2002 encoding guidelines, tendering, monitoring data capture
• Oxford & Cambridge Islamic Manuscripts Catalogue Online (OCIMCO): TEI P5 schema documentation
• JISC Historic Books: consultation on data mappings and functional specifications
• Europeana Libraries: member of the metadata working group, guidelines for data contributors
• Text Creation Partnership (EEBO/ECCO-TCP): responsible for the European mirror of the TCP projects
