Welcome. I am an assistant professor in the Department of Asian and Policy Studies, Hong Kong Institute of Education. My research interests include language politics, political institutions, ethnic conflicts, China, and housing policies. Funded by the Swire Educational Trust, my research explores mechanisms of institutional change and language politics in China.
Previously I was awarded a China Research Award from the University of Oxford and a Lord Fulton Memorial Prize from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and was a visiting student at the University of California, Berkeley. My latest article is “Defining Correctness: The Tale of the Contemporary Chinese Dictionary,” forthcoming in Modern China.
If you need any more information please contact me.
