American Poetry Full-Text Database

Description: American poetry contains over 40,000 poems by more than 200 poets from the Colonial period to the early twentieth century. The entire text of each poem has been reproduced in full including, in most cases, any annotations, dedications, epigraphs, and so on. A selection of anthologies have also been included in the database. The selection of the poems for the database has been based on the Bibliography of American Literature (Yale University Press 1955-1991) together with additional poems as recommended by the Editorial Board. This database is also available through Chadwyck-Healey's LION: Literature Online service.

Requirements: PC running Windows 3.1+ together with CD-ROM drive and at least 8MB RAM.
