The entire text of each poem has been reproduced in full including, in most cases, any annotations, dedications, epigraphs, and so on. A selection of anthologies have also been included in the database. The selection of the poems for the database has been based on the Bibliography of American Literature (Yale University Press 1955-1991) together with additional poems as recommended by the Editorial Board.
