English Prose Drama

Description: The English Prose Drama CD-ROM consists of over 1,800 works by around 400 authors from the Renaissance to the end of the nineteenth century. The database includes significant English translations of non-English authors such as Molière and Kotzebue and adaptations or dramatisations of works by Charles Dickens and others. The selection of works included on this CD-ROM has been based on the New Cambridge Bibliography of English Literature (Cambridge University Press, 1969-1972) and Alfred Harbage, Annuls of English Drama 975-1700 (London, 1989). English Prose Drama is combined with English Verse Drama and made available through Chadwyck-Healey's Literature Online service as English Drama.

Requirements: PC running Windows 3.1+ with at least 8MB RAM and CD-ROM drive. Access through Literature Online requires an Internetworked computer with a graphical web browser.
