Johnson's Dictionary of the English Language

Description: Edited by Anne McDermott of the University of Birmingham, the single CD-ROM contains both the First and Fourth editions of Johnson's Dictionary of the English Language, the first and last editions which were published during his lifetime. The digitised images of all original pages and fully coded versions of the text are included. The coding which has been adding to the text allows both versions to be searched by occurrences of words and phrases, quotations, source authors and so on. Images and transcriptions are linked hypertextually.

Requirements: PC running Windows 3.1 or above with at least 8MB of RAM and a CD-ROM drive, or Macintosh running System 7.0 or above with at least 8MB of RAM and a CD-ROM drive.
