Short Bio

Nur Ata joined the Lincoln college in September 2007 as the cebr post-doctoral fellow in economics. Nur received her M.A. degree in economics from Bilkent University in Turkey and Master in Economic Analysis degree from Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona in Spain. She holds a Ph.D. in economics degree from Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona. Prior to joining Lincoln, she spent two years as a research fellow at the Finance and Consumption Programme of the European University Institute in Florence.

At Lincoln Nur teaches, microeconomics (prelims), macroeconomics and finance tutorials.

 

Research Interests

Her current research focuses on behavioural economics. In particular, she is interested in examining the role of self-control on consumer borrowing and repayment behaviour. She also has papers on the role of information risk in asset pricing and on the existence of competitive equilibrium under financial constraints and increasing returns.

Economic Consultancy

 

I also work as a senior economist (part time) at the Centre for Economics and Business Research (cebr). In cebr, I have been involved in the projects on evaluation of environmental and health policies and their implications for the competitiveness of different sectors of the economy. I also contribute to the regular publications on economic forecasts for the United Kingdom and other economies around the world.
