Danica Salazar

I am the Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow in English Language Lexicography of the University of Oxford. I am based in the Faculty of English Language and Literature, but I conduct part of my research at Oxford University Press. I am also an Associate Member of Hertford College.

I also have a Master’s degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language from the University of Salamanca and a Bachelor of Arts degree in European Languages from the University of the Philippines-Diliman, with a major in Spanish and a minor in French.

I have participated in several international conferences and published articles on English and Hispanic studies. I have recently co-edited a volume titled Biomedical English: A corpus-based approach, published by John Benjamins, and I am currently working with the same publisher on a monograph on lexical bundles in scientific English. I have also co-authored Spanish course books for foreign language learners and taught various courses on English corpus linguistics and teaching Spanish as a foreign language. My research interests include lexicography, World Englishes, phraseology, corpus linguistics and language teaching.

I am originally from Manila, Philippines, but I have been living in Europe for the last half-decade. I split my time between Oxford and Toulouse, France.
