Terms and Conditions

  1. You MUST agree to these Terms and Conditions in order to download the
    SELF Research Centre Instrument Packages.

  2. Each instrument must be correctly referenced (you can find this information
    included within the instrument package you choose).

  3. Any conditions of use that apply specifically to that instrument or a part of that
    instrument are adhered to (these are stated within the instrument package).

  4. Permission is for the person/group seeking permission to use these instruments
    and for the purposes indicated in applying, not for distribution to other researchers
    or other uses.

  5. It is a condition of the use of this instrument that any data on this instrument which
    is collected will be made available in electronic form to the SELF Research Centre.
    It is not necessary to provide identifying information such as names etc. However,
    the data should include, age, gender, location of administration and some general
    description of the respondents, eg secondary school students, or teachers, or
    psychology students, etc. Final data provided will be used only for psychometric
    evaluation and for addition to norms and emailed to herb.marsh@education.ox.ac.uk

  6. Should use of this instrument lead to any publication, it is a condition of use that the
    researchers collecting the data, will acknowledge the origins of the instrument.

  7. Should the instrument be varied it would be appreciated if the SELF Research Centre
    was consulted before the variation was used. If you intend to use only a single scale or
    some but not all scales and no other variation then consultation is not necessary.

  8. The SELF Research Centre accepts no responsibility, liability or indemnity for
    misuse of these instruments, or damage to participants during the use of these
    instruments. Responsibility, liability and indemnity rests with the ethical and
    professional conduct of the administrators/researchers seeking to use the
    instruments. It is expected that those who are authorised to use these instruments
    have qualifications in conducting social research, or are associated with researchers
    who have the necessary qualifications to conduct research.

  9. In using these instruments, the administrators/researchers accept all liabilities and
    indemnities pertaining to the use of these instruments.
