The Oxford University History Society was founded in 1998 with the aim of providing lectures and social events for students studying history at Oxford University, students with a general interest in the past or Oxford University alumni who wish to sustain their interest in the subject after graduation.
In recent years, OUHS has hosted some of the most prestigious historians and public figures from around the world, including David Starkey CBE, Professor Quentin Skinner, Jeremy Black MBE, and David Aaronovitch. In addition to this the society also organises a number of social events throughout term, including Society Cocktails, an Annual Dinner and President's Drinks.
OUHS is proud to be the largest historical society within the University of Oxford, with over 500 lifetime members. A copy of the OUHS constitution can be downloaded in PDF form here.
