Professor Hilda Meldrum Brown

Professor Brown was awarded a Leverhulme Trust Emeritus Research Fellowship to undertake a project entitled The total work of art (Gesamtkunstwerk): a 19th century quest. Her research has for some years had a strong interdisciplinary bias. It involves studying connections between literature, drama, music, the visual arts, and the theory of landscape gardening, especially in works associated with German Romanticism and Richard Wagner.
