Go to http://autodock.scripps.edu/ and follow links to the "MGLTools Web Portal" downloads page.
Download file MGLTools-1.5.2-Linux-x86-Install to your home directory (e.g. /home/tomas). If you do not know where is your home directory, open terminal window by going to Applications --> Accessories --> Terminal; type cd ~ and press Enter; type pwd and press Enter; your home directory will be printed on the screen.
Open terminal window by going to Applications --> Accessories --> Terminal.
Type chmod +x MGLTools-1.5.2-Linux-x86-Install and press Enter.
Type ./MGLTools-1.5.2-Linux-x86-Install and press Enter.
An installation window should appear on the screen. Press Next.
Accept the License Agreement by pressing Yes.
Choose a directory for the installation (e.g. /home/tomas/MGLTools-1.5.2).
Accept the License Agreements for add-on packages by selecting Not commercial - Install all these packages and press Continue.
Test installation by starting Python Molecular Viewer (PMV) and creating desktop shortcuts.
PMV should start.
Close PMV and go back to the terminal window.
Type source ~/MGLTools-1.5.2/bin/mglenv.sh and press Enter in order to complete installation.
Installation of MGLTools 1.5.2 on Ubuntu Linux 8.04 completed.
