Oxford University Karate Club

Safety Documents

Shotokan Karate is a safe martial art to practice. The code of etiquette that is practiced both in training sessions and in competition ensures that potential injuries are kept to a minimum.

The club strictly observes the requirements as set out by the University's Health and Safety Regulations and those by the Japanese Karate Association England. The committee has also carried out a risk assessment to identify and reduce any potential safety hazards.

The clubs safety documents are reviewed anually by the Committee in conjunction with the Oxford University Sports Area Safety Officer to ensure practices are comprehensive and up-to-date.
