Laugh with me !!

  • What does people actually mean when they say "It is my gut feeling ..." ?

Well, I believe the origin of this phrase must lay with someone who understood neurology very well; particularly the very fact that gut (small intestine) is controlled by the involuntary part of brain. This part of brain takes the decision based on internal and external environment without much communication with voluntary decision making brain centres. Now, when people say "It is my gut feeling ..."; they actually mean that some higher functions of his brain are judging this particular aspect which he cannot define with any logical explanation. But it is something which he believes as a response to the external and internal environment created by this particular aspect.
