William Wintle

Part-time D.Phil Student in Landscape Archaeology,
Kellogg College, University of Oxford.

I am researching the landscape of the late Iron Age and Roman period in the Vale of the White Horse. This research is associated with the Vale and Ridgeway project and the annual Marcham/Frilford excavations.

Since 2006 I have conducted a series of geophysical surveys at a range of sites in the Vale of the White Horse, including Marcham, Frilford, East Hanney, Garford, and Charney Bassett. Publications and reports based on this work are listed below. In addition, as part of a joint programme between the Institute of Archaeology and Oxford Archaeology I have conducted a number of small-scale surveys in and around Dorchester-on-Thames.
