PHYSICS PAPER CLUB
UPDATE
: a new PPC site is up here
What is PPC?
The PPC was founded in 2010 to gather undergraduate students of
Physics and enable them to share the scientific papers studied. Every
week an undergraduate student gives a talk on a chosen paper, which
would critically present a problem and explain the solution suggested
by the author. The discussion that follows concerns the validity of
the solution, some general comments, and provides a valuable input to
the general understanding of Physics. We are also very open to all
inquiries about parts of Physics not well explained in textbooks, or
neglected by lecturers: please come and lets use the combined
experience of everyone to find a solution.
Neat. Where and when is it?
We usually meet at 5pm on a Saturday at St Hugh's College (directions),
Hamlin Room 1 (Main Building, first floor). Just come to the Porters
Lodge at St Margarets Rd a few minutes before.
Can I contribute?
Sure! If you are interested in sharing an
interesting problem and its solution, please e-mail Chris, we are
all the time looking for speakers, and we are aiming to split to
subgroups concerned with particular branches of physics.
