The Urban Fox
Alright, gov! I'm an urban fox,
What I love is:
Not too much open space for me!
You can keep your coverts and furrows.
My cubs play in your rhubarb patch,
Make their burrows
Under your garden shed.
Roll in the snow on diamond nights
In the public park,
Yammer and bark
All night to steal your sleep, commuters!
Inner city people,
Wage slaves and dole scroungers,
Who never put on red coats
And hunt me to my death.
