Welcome to Oxford University Lawn Tennis
Welcome to the homepage of the Oxford University Lawn Tennis Club. Lawn Tennis is one of the 14 Full Blue sports at Oxford University. The 2008/09 season was another successful one as Oxford were victorious in 3 of the 6 Varsity Matches, the Men's Blues side maintained their place in the BUCS Premier Division, the Women's Blues were unbeaten in their league, and the Men's Penguins had a good first BUCS campaign. Let's hope that we can have an even more successful season in 2009/10 by avenging our close defeats by Cambridge in the Varsity matches, and producing another strong showing in the BUCS leagues by all teams involved. Any questions you may have about the club can hopefully be answered by looking at the relevant section of the website. If there is anything else we can help you with however, please do get in touch with us via e-mail (oultc@nexus.ox.ac.uk).
OULTC dates back to 1880 and is based at the Oxford University Sports Complex at Iffley Road. All Oxford University members, including staff, are welcome to join. We have four hard courts and a tennis pavilion, and in the summer we can play on our six grass courts.
Members can use the hard courts at any time and have other benefits such as free entry into the ballot for Wimbledon tickets and free coaching. It doesn’t matter what standard you are, absolutely any member of Oxford University can join. We have free coaching for members every weekend during term time, for beginners right up to Blues level, and in Trinity Term we organise Cuppers and Leagues.
Our University Teams play in their Varsity Matches against Cambridge at the end of Trinity Term and the Men’s Varsity Match dates back to 1881.
For more information, please have a look around this site and if you have any questions, please feel free to email any of the people on the contacts page.
