Ladder 2009/10
Rules:
You may challenge any player up to (and including) 4 players above you (or up to and including 4 places below you - for those at the top of the ladder).
To challenge someone, you must e-mail them and arrange a mutual time to play. The person challenged must be available to play within one week of the request (during term time) and a mutually agreed date and time should be arranged. A received challenge should normally be replied to within 48 hours. A person who cannot play within seven days for any reason will forfeit the match.
Matches are to be played at Iffley Road (or any other venue agreed by both sides) and booking of the court is recommended to avoid disappointment. If a booking is to be made, it is to be done by the challenger. 2 hours of court time is recommended. Remember when it gets dark though!
The challenger must provide tennis balls for the match.
Matches are to be best of three sets, with a tie break in the first two sets, the third set being played out to two clear games.
The winner is responsible for sending in the result within 24 hours of the match (preferably straight away) so that the ladder can be updated on the website. I will try and update the website every evening. Results are to be sent in the following format by e-mail at lawn-tennis.club@studentclubs.ox.ac.uk:
Date and time of match, Winner's name, Loser's name, Score of the match.
You do not have to accept more than one challenge within a week of each other.
You do not have to accept a challenge from someone you defeated within the past two weeks.
If, before accepting your challenge, someone moves more than four places away from you, then you can no longer challenge that person.
The decision of the ladder co-ordinator, Marc Baghdadi, is final.
Good luck!
