Men's Penguins 2011/2012
The Men’s Second Team, known as the Penguins, train all year round at Iffley Road. Training sessions are on a Sunday afternoon 14:00-15:30. This year, the Penguins have been entered into BUCS, and will have matches against other Universities each Wednesday. The Blues and Penguins squads are never finally decided until Trinity Term and so players who improve in the Penguins squad can be moved up to the Blues if they show enough potential and players can also be moved the other way.
Penguins have their own fixture list and in the summer they play many matches against local clubs and counties. The Penguins have their 2nds Varsity Match at the end of Trinity as well and is played alternately at Cambridge and Oxford. This year, the Penguins lost to Cambridge at Fenners so we hope they can avenge their defeat and bring back the trophy when they play their Varsity at Iffley Road in June.
