Men's Polar Bears 2011/2012
The Men’s Third Team, known as the Polar Bears, train all year round at Iffley Road. Training sessions are on a Sunday afternoon 12:30-14:00. This year, the Polar Bears have been entered into BUCS, and will have matches against other Universities each Wednesday. The Penguins and Polar Bears squads are never finally decided until Trinity Term and so players who improve in the Polar Bears squad can be moved up to the Penguins if they show enough potential and players can also be moved the other way.
Polar Bears have their own fixture list and in the summer they play many matches against local clubs and counties. The Polar Bears have their 3rds Varsity Match at the end of Trinity as well and is played alternately at Cambridge and Oxford. This year, the Polar Bears beat Cambridge at Fenners so we hope they can keep the trophy when they play their Varsity at Iffley Road in June.
