Riding Training Advice

12 Jumps 3ft (including 2 doubles and a triple) on a horse drawn at random.

Target Score: 1200pts

1 pole = 28pts, fall of rider etc...

Riding actually formed the first phase of de Coubertin's story, as the officer fled the battlefield on an unknown horse jumping over obstacles in the way.)

Today Modern Pentathlon riding (the fourth event) at is simple show-jumping.

Kit:

Hat (provided by the school or borrowed), Boots/Half-chaps and Jodhpur (provided by OUMPA or borrowed)

Training:

Until OUMPA picks up a horse we won't be able to provide onsite training in this particular discipline. What we can offer is a recommendation to the nearest riding schools to Oxford and the occasional group trip.

For those with pony club experience, or their own horse training is as necessary as you want to make it.

For others, its probably essential. But don't be daunted by the challenge...
