The OUMPA Weekly TimetableThis is the training timetable for the 2006-07 season:
OUMPA Training Explained - Our Core Sessions1) Novice Fence - James and a fencing coach will teach you the basics throughout Michaelmas. Then in Hilary and Trinity terms all fencers can progress to the advanced sessions run byt the OUFC on Monday and Thursday nights (see optional timetable). Wear clean trainers and buy some long socks (rugby/hockey/white socks upto knee). All other kit provided by OUMPA. Get used to wiring up quickly so you can progress to the advanced nights asap. 2) Swim - Kate, together with a swim coach will show you the drills you must do to swim fast. your sholders should ache after these sessions. then drink in Cricketers Arms after to rehydrate. 3) Run - This is a track session which will bring your 3000m time crashing down. Bring good running trainers or spikes. Bring heart rate monitor if you have one. 4) Novice Swim - If you can't swim very well then this session is for you. We have a qualified swim coach who will teach you the basics. For more able swimmers another set will be avaliable. 5) Shoot - Here we will give shooting advice / tips. Once every month we will have a qualified shooting coach who will transform your shooting. 6) Run - Unlike the track session which is fast paced, this run will be much more flexible. You will see a bit of Oxford and surrounding countryside with some hills on the way. We'll be back in Oxford for 4pm at the latest. |
