Welcome all Freshers & NovicesMen's Captain's GreetingHey, welcome to OUMPA. I was drawn to OUMPA because you can train hard without being too intense on one single discipline and at the same time meet a good group of people. The differences in standard in the club are very wide meaning that you will fit in somewhere. The best swimmers aren't the best runners, the best fencers aren't the best shooters etc. Everything is a compromise and that's the key to making it an exciting environment to train in. My advice is to get into routine early. Take a look at the timetable, find out where the session is held (e-mail if you don't know) and come along to as many core sessions as you can fit into your week. Also definitely do the Novice Varisty match. This will give you a real taste of how fun Pentathlon can be.
