OUSRC has always been represented in the British Universities Sports Association (BUSA) competitions. Two men's and two women's side weekly do battle against other universities from the Southern Counties. The Men's Blues team have enjoyed a run in the Premier Division in recent years and also reached the semi-finals of the knock-out tournament. A number of individuals have also faired well in BUSA Individuals Championship, with Ben Garner becoming British Universities champion in 2001.
In addition to BUSA fixtures, the women's Blues represent the university in the Premier Division of the Oxfordshire League. The men's Blues have a full and varied fixture list involving friendlies against local, London-based and touring sides. A number of their squad also play for local teams in the Oxfordshire Premier Division.
As with all OU clubs, the main target for each season is the annual Varsity Match against Cambridge. The joint Blues' Varsity Match is held at the Royal Automobile Club on Pall Mall, London and was played this year on Saturday 14 February.
