Comments

The women's second team faced Warwick in the finals of the Midlands Conference Cup. Though facing a strong opposition, they pulled together to play with excellent skills and team work to quickly take the first two sets, 25-22 and 25-21. Struggling in the third set, they lost momentum with a strong server early on, but picked up the game again to finish with a 25-21 loss. The fourth set saw Warwick step up their defense and take the set 25-14. A tense fifth set saw Oxford hold their own, but the momentum Warwick had gained in the third and fourth sets carried them through to a 15-9 victory over Oxford. Oxford has thus secured an honorable, and well fought second place in the Midlands Conference Cup - way to go ladies!! They are also currently ranked second in the BUCS league table, pending the outcome of the last few matches in the league.
