This week, remembering the way from the previous sightseeing trip, we arrived early to the match, and after some confusion between the start time and the warm up time, we eventually got onto the court. Despite hanging around for a while, we came out strong and took the 1st comfortably to 15. The 2nd, was tighter with a time out being called by the opposition at 11-11, this proved useful as they then came out to win the following 4 points. Oxford with a way to go, couldn’t come back from the quick torrent of points, losing the 2nd 21-25. Regaining their dominance, aided by a one handed block by Jana, playing out of position in the middle, we took the 3rd 25-20. With a good depth of squad, and strong serving from the base line the opposition couldn’t come back from a defensive position. With strong passing and defending by the blues, the options were there for setter Isabel to take advantage and run offence. A good game against solid opposition in the back court, we welcomed the win…. The post match food…. Not so much.
