If you think you'd like to try pistol shooting, then we'd like to invite you to join us for a taster session. We have a main beginners course at the start of the academic year. Don't worry if you've never shot a pistol before - most of our club members learned as freshers and we'll teach you everything you need to be a good, safe shooter. If you'd like to attend our next trial session, email the Captain who will provide you with all the information you need! You can also check out our Facebook page for any announcements regarding trial sessions.
Further details for new shooters are here.
If you want to join the club, then let us know. You can download membership forms here.
Pistol shooting is one of the safest and oldest sports at Oxford. As well as being a discretionary full blue sport with two varsity matches against Cambridge each year, we also compete - and do quite well - in a number of regional and national competitions. We shoot the same air pistols used in the Olympics and Paralympics and we are proud of the fact our sport can be enjoyed by everyone, regardless of gender and differences of physical ability. We also plan on having a full year of social activities, so if you aren't sure you'll make the Olympic qualifying standards you can still have a great time as a member of OUPC.
