Venue Hire

The Pitt Rivers Museum can provide a unique venue for your event, as it is one of the world's great museums of anthropology and world archaeology. Guests can relax, mingle and chat as they wander between cases displaying an almost overwhelming array of intriguing artefacts from all corners of the world and many periods of human history.

Private and corporate events

The Museum's Court (ground floor) can accommodate parties of up to 200 guests for drinks receptions or finger buffets. From £400 per hour inclusive of VAT.

The Museum lecture theatre can seat 70 people. The Blackwood room can seat 30 around a table or 45 lecture theatre style. Both rooms are equipped with modern audio-visual equipment.
From £100 per hour inclusive of VAT.

Hire charges include the provision of Front of House/security staff.

Catering

We have two approved caterers who we would ask you to contact independently after reserving the venue. All catering costs are additional to room hire.

Availability

All private bookings are for outside normal opening hours.
Opening hours: 12.00 – 16.30 Monday and 10.00 - 16.30 Tuesday to Sunday and Bank Holidays.

Access

The entrance to the Museum for evening events is the Museum’s South Door in Robinson Close (off South Parks Road). Download map (pdf)

Disabled parking spaces may be available, please state at time of booking or contact reception: 01865 270927. There is no other parking at the Museum please see Oxfordshire County Council website for further details on travel information.
