African Music at the Pitt Rivers Museum

Play the interlocking rhythms and melodies of the giant Ugandan embaire xylophone with a team of up to 10 players per instrument and add voices, drums and panpipes; Discover the contexts of music in Africa from the Zimbabwean mbira to the kora from Mali, and explore polyrhythm, pentatonic scales, and call and response.African music workshop
