About Me

I am a Prize Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Nuffield College, Oxford (since September 2011). I study the comparative political economy of the advanced industrialized societies.

I am interested in the contemporary causes and consequences of inequality and government redistribution, and their historical development.

I am currently working on two primary research projects: the political economy of progressive taxation in the advanced industrial countries (1890- the present day); and the political causes and consequences of the `great recession' of 2008-2011.

I received my Ph.D. in Political Economy and Government from Harvard in November 2010, and worked as a Research Fellow at Trinity College, Dublin in 2010-2011.
