Welcome to the site for the 18th Oxford Inter-Collegiate Quiz, 2009. Here you can find fixtures, results and information from the competition.

As the event progresses this page will be updated showing results from the group stages and the games in the later stages. Organisers of registered teams may use the administration section to arrange their matches.

Knockout Stages

First Round

The top two teams from each group will go through to the Second Round. All First Round matches are to be played by Wednesday of Week 5 (18th Feb). All teams must have played at least one match by Wednesday of week 4 (11th Feb).

  • Qualification from the First Round

    The top two teams in each group go through to the Second Round. In the event of a tie on points, the following factors are taking into consideration, in this order.

    In the league tables, teams in blue progressed to the second round as group winners. Those in magenta progress to round 2 as group runners-up.

    Qualifying Rounds

    Qualification rules: three tournaments, played by limited Swiss Pairs rules over three matches. Top three from each tournament (by wins, then head-to-head result, then points difference between tied teams only if all matches between tied teams have been played ), to qualify. Best fourth-place out of the three tournaments to qualify. Final two fourth-places to play-off for qualification.

    In the final tables, teams in blue qualify outright; teams in magenta reach the play-offs for qualification.
