CyMap
CyMap
represents a fundamental rethink in the way biological cells are imaged. Simple
hardware and clever software are used to derive images without using lenses.
The device allows stress-free, long-term monitoring of cells to be performed.
With the continued collaboration between The Gray Institute for Radiation
Oncology and Biology (GIROB) at the University
of Oxford, and Cancer
Research Technology (CRT), CyMap's cheap,
power-efficient, compact and simple-to-use design allows development of new
diagnostic platforms and the introduction of imaging capability to products
where microscopic imaging is not cost-effective. It has applications ranging
from stem cell research and tissue engineering through to the clinic
(patient-bedside) and diagnostic laboratory, whether in a hospital or in the Third
world.
