Oxford University Role Playing Games Society
Hilary 1999 Termcard
Laserquest - Wednesday 3rd week, (3rd Feb), time TBA
Laserquest, for the third term running is almost becoming a regular
event, but it wouldn’t fit on the other page so it’s still here. More
chance to get revenge on all those who have been the source of all
your roleplaying trouble over the last few terms, the GM’s and your
fellow players. Beat the best scores and run around in the dark.
With the possibility of a special price deal coming.
Venue Laserquest, off Gloucester Green.
Pub Crawl - Friday 4th week, (12th Feb)
It’s that point in the term again, alcohol and exercise combined with
hopefully less of the latter.
- 7:30 The Pub Oxford.
- 8:00 The Angel andGreyhound
- 8:30 The Temple Bar
- 9:00 The Oxford Blue
- 9:30 The Magdalen Arms
- 10:30 The Philosopher & Firkin
The Banquet - Saturday 7th week, (6th Mar)
Its the most glorious black tie event in the whole of Oxford! With,
if it can be found, the pig wine again. With food, wine and speeches
what more could you want. Dust off the black tie and clean off last
year's port and we’ll see you there. Currently either St Hilda’s or
possibly Somerville. Tickets available nearer the time.
Annual General Meeting - 2pm, Sunday 8th week, (7th Mar)
It’s that meeting when all those able to stand after the banquet turn
up and vote a new committee in so the current one can go and cele...
commiserate the end of their term in a corner somewhere. Venue to be
Nightflyer: Submissions are still being accepted for
Nightflyer 32. Please send articles or artwork to Corinne Berg, Linacre
College as soon as possible. To discuss ideas either email
or telephone 01865 433739.
Elections: As you may have noticed above, this term is the
election of a new committee and it’s quite hard to have an election or in
fact a committee if no one stands so all the budding committee members out
there this is your chance. Give your name to a member of the current committee,
(the secretary for example) if you wish to stand.
Imagister - 7:30 start, Tuesday evenings, The Pusey Room, Keble.
The final term of this society game, only seven more weeks to go and everything
will be over. Either the players will have destroyed everything again, or perhaps
they might manage to end things happily this time. There are strange
disappearances, earthquakes, mysterious green-haired men and the immortal line
"if you strike me down I will become more powerful..." etc. The end of the last
term saw the death of the wanderer and the possible death of the Magister (again).
What happens now? Who exactly is Lady Void? Why does Morgan think he’s King of
Nitlas? Maybe we shall never know.

and that will reach all of us... Daniel Singer, Michael Sweeney, Emma Stuttard,
Andromeda Wood, David McKnight. Or pigeon post to Daniel Singer, Somerville College.
FLRP, 8pm, Friday 3rd, 5th, 7th weeks. Feb 5th, Feb 19th, Mar 5th respectively.
The fun with latex continues again this term with another series of FLRPs.
Moonlight, adrenalin, roleplaying, chocolate, wine gums, a warped sense on
humour and a vast array of NPC’s with dubious accents. Probably no giant
mice this term. Unless it becomes necessary booking in advance isn’t in action
this term so just turn up and play. Price £3.50 for players, £2.50 for monsters
(no reduction for smaller monsters). For further information contact Brian
Wright, Queens College.
Games Night - Thursdays, 7:30pm, Pusey Room, Keble except 3rd week, elsewhere in Keble.
The fun and excitement which is games night continues in its inevitable way with
board games, plotting, socialising and even recently some roleplaying! With
various GMs present and all evening to pester them its the ideal opportunity to
receive plot in return for cash payments...if you believe they’d be that corrupt
that is. Turn up, talk to people, have fun. If you want to look at anything from
the RPGSoc luggage (library) ask David McKnight for a list of the items and the
magical charm to prevent it eating you.
Vampire - degeneration Even Saturdays, 7:30pm venue to be announced.
The Vampire campaign of darkness and horror continues with the quiet disrupted
again already. Things just couldn’t manage to be that calm in the World of Darkness.
There is conflict between Mithras and the Camarilla and the Sabbat are in the city
but they’re offering a deal...Which side will Oxford end up on or will it just be
squashed in the middle. Play the game to find out.
