Schola Alumni
Schola maintains a large archive spanning nearly 50 years of its existence.
We believe it is important to maintain links with former members of Schola. The best way to keep in touch is to become a Friend of Schola. Here
are some of the other ideas we have come up with:
- organising more reunions, especially for those who live in and
around Oxford and London
- putting Old Members in touch with each other
- tracking down 'lost' Old Members
- fundraising campaigns to raise money for important choir projects
- Any ideas that you might have will also be welcome
SCHOLA 50th ANNIVERSARY REUNION 2010
The choir were joined by the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and over 150 former members, including Dame Emma Kirkby the world-renowned soprano soloist, for its 50th anniversary reunion concert.
The performance took place in Oxford's magnificent Sheldonian Theatre on Saturday 1st May 2010 at 8pm, featuring Bach's Magnificat, Handel’s Dixit Dominus and The King Shall Rejoice.
A report and photos from the event will appear soon. Click here for a list of alumni who attended and took part in the performances.
SCHOLA REUNION 2005
In 2005 Schola celebrated its 45th anniversary
with a reunion of former and current members of Schola in a performance
of Bach's Mass in B Minor on 30th April 2005 at the Sheldonian Theatre.
The massed choir - directed by current Schola conductor, James Burton
- was joined by eminent soprano Emma Kirkby, herself a former member of
the choir, and the English Baroque Sinfonia, with players drawn from some
of the finest baroque chamber orchestras in the country.
The concert was a great success, attended by a sell-out audience. Reviews
will be posted here as they become available.

If you are a past member of Collegium Musicum or Schola Cantorum and did
not receive an invitation to sing in the concert, please contact
us to be added to our database.
GARDEN PARTY 2001
The Old Members garden party was held on 2nd June 2001 to welcome the
new Patrons (John Mark Ainsley, Emma Kirkby, Andrew Parrott) and Trustees
(Emily Bradshaw, Nick Harries).
John Mark also sang the tenor solos in a performance of Kenneth Leighton's
Crucifixus to help promote one of the choir's latest CDs of music by Leighton
and Vaughan Williams. We were also honoured to have Jo Leighton, Kenneth's
widow, as a guest at this concert.
