Oxford Folk Weekend - Friday-Sunday 19th-21st April 2013

There will be ceilidhs, folk music, Morris, belly-dancing and much more this weekend. For more information, see the website.

Harwell Ball - Saturday 27th April

Harwell's Spring Ball is from 7:30-11:30pm. It promises to be a great evening, and they are offering a special discount to OUSDS dancers. Tickets £12.50 (normal price £17.50), including supper and a great band (Craigellachie). Full details, dances etc. here. It is outside Oxford, but Harwell are keen for as many of us as possible to go, so there should be lifts there and back for anyone who wants them. Contact Sam.

May Morning - Wednesday 1st May 2013

We will be dancing at 6am in Radcliffe Square outside All Souls' College to a fantastic piper! Make sure you're there, whether you're up early or surviving from a Ball the night before. We will be learning a few of the dances on Tuesday but will cover most of them on Wednesday, so if you want to dance on May Morning it would be a good idea to come along on Wednesday if you can (everyone welcome in 1st week!).

Dance in Lockeridge, Marlborough - Saturday 1st June

7.30pm. This is a great dance with music provided by the excellent Craigellachie. Lifts can usually be arranged, pay on the door.

Dancing in Cumnor - Wednesday 5th June

2-4:30pm: For anyone who happens to be free during the day, there will be dancing in Cumnor (easily accessible on the bus), price £2 including tea and biscuits.

Gerrard's Cross Tea Dance - Saturday 9th June

End of Term Dance - Tuesday 11th June 2013

Our Hilary end of term dance takes place on Tuesday of 8th week (5th March) from 7.30pm to 11pm, at the Wesley Memorial Church in the centre of Oxford (recorded music).
This will be a very jolly evening. We'll dance the dances we've been learning in the Tuesday classes this term. Wednesday classes will be open to all in 6th and 7th Week, where we'll be covering the trickier dances on the programme. Please bring finger food to share. £4.50 for members & £6 for non-members. End of Term Meal - Wednesday 12th June 2013

On Wednesday of 8th week (12th June) instead of Wednesday class, we will be having our end of term meal together at Sam's house in Summertown at 7:30pm. If you would like to come, please email Sam (see the weekly email for more details).

White Rose Festival - Saturday 13th July 2013

This was a great event last year and if we're lucky it will be back outside on the grass this year (weather permitting!). This is a great way to begin going to Scottish Dance events outside Oxford and to meet other dancers. We'll learn the dances in advance and then dance them on the day, plus there's an evening dance with a great band! There will be transport going from Oxford and there is easy public transport to the hall from anywhere else; we will be arranging accommodation together as well.
