Goran Banjac joined the University of Oxford in 2015 as a DPhil (PhD) student in Engineering Science under the supervision of Prof. Paul Goulart. He received his BSc and MSc (summa cum laude) degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Zagreb, Croatia. During his master studies he was an intern in the European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN). Following his graduate studies he was a research associate in the Department of Control and Computer Engineering at the University of Zagreb.

He is currently a member of the Control Group in the Department of Engineering Science, and a Marie Curie Fellow on the EU project TEMPO. In 2016 he spent three months at Stanford University in the group of Prof. Stephen Boyd.

His research interests are mainly in optimisation and control. He is currently working towards his DPhil degree on the topic Iteration complexity certification for optimisation algorithms.
