Negar Assari-Samimi
Invited Artist for the Conference of the Art and Material Culture of Iranian Shiism


Conceptual artist Negar Assari-Samimi has had her artwork published internationally to inform communities about global-warming and other environmental hazards.  Negar works with many different media, including sculpting, drawing, painting, photography, and computer graphics, and has held many exhibitions in the United States, as well as Europe.  Negar creates artwork that has strong messages toward public awareness and educating communities and she firmly believes that visual communication can play an important role in improving world conditions.
 
Negar graduated in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts from the College of Art and Architecture (Tehran/Iran) with a concentration in Educational Visual Communication. In 1997, she earned a Masters degree in Visual Information Technology from George Mason University (Fairfax/USA).  She lives outside of Washington, DC with her husband and three children.
