Art is the representation of freedom, communication and expression in today’s world. Creativity is something we all have innately within us, without which society today would not exist as it does now. I am an artist-teacher: an artist at the same time as a teacher of art and design. I studied Fine Art as a degree across three countries, finally specialising in painting and eventually decided on doing my HDip to qualify for Art and Design teaching in second level education. My passion for Art started as far back as I can remember and it has fuelled my whole life. I have become immersed in many different areas of Art including textiles, ceramics, sculpture, print, digital media, graphic design, drawing and painting. Much of my work is inspired by my travels, concepts of identity, and human relationships. Life should be full of colour, vitality and passion and my work tends to follow this philosophy.
