The broad aim of the group is to enhance environmental and conservation plans in the tropics, based on sound, scientific research of plant and animal communities. Oxford University provides an excellent academic base for this research, with access to comprehensive libraries, computing facilities statistical support and information systems, suitable for analysing high-quality data collected in species-rich environments. Much of this work is carried out in collaboration with academic institutions in participating countries so that findings can be used in an applied manner.
