These pages are intended for students and staff at Oxford University and
focus on the study of Modern British Literature. Although visitors from outside
of the University are welcome they will find that some of the services are only
available to members of Oxford University. The pages are hosted by the
English Faculty at
Oxford. The page is sectioned into General Information, Bibliographic Services,

Generic
- OxLIP - Oxford's Libraries
Information Platform. The main starting point for all of the networked
services, dividing titles into subject categories or as a full alphabetical
list. Notably includes a networked version of English Poetry Full Text Database
(up to 1900 only), Dictionary of National Biography (to 1985), English Verse
Drama (to 1911), Complete Works of Virginia Woolf, Wilfred Owen Digital Archive.

Includes the Arts and Humanities ISI Citation Index.
- OCLC FirstSearch
- Includes WorldCat, MLA, Article1st, and Contents1st.
- *Periodical Contents Index - includes a
good selection of literature (Western Europe) journals.

Full Text Journals and Other Sites
Due to copyright it is extremely difficult to make modern texts available
on-line. However, the Literature On-Line Service does provide some (notably the
Carcanet Poets - 1972-1997), plus
Writer in
Residence workshops (currently Eavan Boland, previously Matthew Sweeney).
In addition, there are several products available on CD-ROM in the
Centre for
Humanities Computing. These include:
- Beat Culture - Films and poetry from New America (1950-65)
- Jack Kerouac ROMnibus - multimedia package on the author
- Poetry in Motion - Modern Poets reading their work (includes video clips)
- Theatre of the Imagination - Radio broadcasts by Orson Welles
- Understanding McLuhan - a review of the work of Marshall McLuhan
In addition to the above there are numerous web sites devoted to modern

Project, contains on-line tutorials and a multimedia archive centred around
Wilfred Owen.
- Global
Bloomsday Project - Impressive world-wide collaboration with readings from
Ulysses from various academics and celebrities.
