SulKiDo Founders Message

At the beginning of the national SulKiDo handbook of the UKSF is a message from our Founder:

"I hope that through the practise of, and common interest in, martial arts, we will develop physically and mentally so that we can achieve a better understanding not only of ourselves, but also of others, regardless of race, colour or creed. Ultimately we should feel ourselves enabled to make a better contribution to our families and the society in which we live."

    Grand Master M.Y. Kim (8th Dan), 1st January, 1978.

Thus the practise of SulKiDo does not require anyone to adopt religious, mystic or political beliefs contrary to their inclination. However we do hope that by studying SulKiDo in an atmosphere of trust and mutual aid people will come to respect others more deeply and be more decent human beings as a result, with the power to defend the freedoms and rights both of themselves and of other people.
